Go on, Ask me!
Assalaamu Aliekum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatu! My name is Roda. I am 19 years old. Raised in the U.S. Alhamdulilah and I want to share with you a gift. I warn you, billions of people already have this gift, but few really use or share it. This gift is Islam. I am going to share with you my religion becuase it is truly the best gift anyone can give or receive. However, I am not a scholar or anything with a title. I am just a student of knowledge. So In sha Allah, I will share this gift to you through this blog. Feel free to ask me about my religion :)
I’m learning more and more of my culture and its……interesting. Lol. Growing up in America has made me kinda, sorta hate my culture but I realized that there are good and bad in EVERY culture. So, I’m learning to take in the good and leave the bad. I’m in for a journey! It’s going to be interesting In sha’ Allah :)
You know, there are a LOT of Muslims who are talented, mashaAllah. Like really, SUPER talented. Some even have more then one talent (their blessed mashaAllah). But it just kills me to see those talents put to use other than the service of Allah. I mean, come on, Allah gave you a nice voice, don’t use it to become the next or American Idol. But use it to read the Glorious Quran and move people hearts with your Tajweed + your gift. And you, Allah gave you the gift of words & writing, dont use it to become the next J.K. Rowling, but use it for spreading/teaching true Islam, cause your writing is Phenomenal. And you! You your a mad artisit! I mean you draw! Use that talent, to not just doodle on the side of your notebook, but….. I dunno….but I’m sure there’s a way you can put that to use! You guys are more creative then me! Then be creative, and think of a way to use that talent that Allah gave you and do something not for other people, fame, or yourself, but for ALLAH. And you wont regret it. :)
Your sister in Islam.
All of you are talented, creative, and visionaries dont just box yourself to be the next Doctor, Engineer, Or Doctor or Engineer, and even Doctor or Engineer, (lol). Because believe it or not, we have a lot of those and less of many things that I cant even list. I would suggest you look at the need of your community and help there. Or if you see something lacking dont just complain, be the one who changes and fixes it! Allahu Alam.
Sometimes I feel that with certain people I have to hide my passion for Islam. Like I cant have a conversation without talking about SOMETHING related to Islam. So some look at me weird or don’t understand, so I restrain myself. Then, I end up being someone I’m not! It’s weird. Any opinions? Help? Suggestions?
"We say “Allahu akbar” when we pray. God is greater. Greater than what? Everything. And yet, as soon as we start to pray, what do we think about? Our heart and mind seem to say: “My job Akbar” “My family akbar” “What I’m doing tonight akbar”. It is human nature to be imperfect. But we should be humbled by the deficient salah we hand Allah every single day, and keep struggling. And, thus we end salah with 3 heart felt “astaghfirAllah"
Ya Allah :’( Great reminder firstly for myself. Give to the creation, and you’ll be given by the Creator. Be generous, and the Most Generous will be generous with you. May Allah SWT save us from being selfish, amiin thumma amiin.
It’s weird looking back and reading my Ramadan journal entries. It like another person wrote them and not me. I’m like did I actually wrote that? It is in my handwriting. Lol. But its true! Being in a different imaan level than I was before seems like I was a totally different person.
